The event takes place over two days, the 31st
August to the 1st of September, so hopefully the weather will be a
bit nicer by then. Capital FM and the Princes Trust have partnered up to bring
Birmingham some A-List superstars. Tickets haven’t even gone on sale yet but
already 60,000 people are expected to attend.
Birmingham is long overdue a festival as I seem to
remember we only really had Party in the Park and Soundstation that didn’t last
very long. Capital FM announced the line-up for the event on their show this
morning. Saturday’s performers include; Jessie J, JLS, McFly, Wiley and
X-Factor star Amelia Lilly. On Sunday international megastar Neyo will be
taking to the stage as well as; The Saturdays, Conor Maynard, The Wanted,
Wretch 32 and last year’s X-Factor winner James Arthur.
This festival is a tad different from some of the
others where the cans and cant are concerned. For example; umbrellas, seats and
blankets are prohibited, so I’d recommend some very comfortable footwear. You
are only permitted to bring “domestic” cameras, so no tripods or zoom lenses.
Before attending the event check out the festival website because the last
thing you want is to be told you can’t get in.
As the event is in partnership with the Prince’s
Trust, for every ticket sold £5 will be donated to the charity. General
admission for the event is £35 per day or £60 for the whole weekend; various
hospitality packages are also available on their website. Tickets go on sale on
Friday at 9am and will go fast so set your alarm clocks!
