You’re probably wondering what stage we are up in the
production process of our first magazine, so here’s a little update to get you
all excited for our upcoming issue!
Last week we shot the cover of our May magazine, which
was really exciting as it shows how our Student Speak pilot is really starting
to come together!
For the festival-themed May mag shoot we had plenty of
appropriate props, from sunglasses to flower headbands, to lollipops and a
camera. Photographer Chloe Jones had all her equipment set up and was raring to
go!
However, there was a minor hitch at the start with a
slight wardrobe malfunction. Our cover girl Rio Wilcock had brought along a
see-through shawl which was indeed summer style, but a bit more Nuts
without a vest underneath, so we anxiously scoured our wardrobe for
substitute clothing. A small white top saved the day and looked perfect
underneath the tasselled piece, so the outfit disaster was soon diverted.
Previously editor Hannah and I had scoured the fashion
pages of several Cosmopolitan magazines, searching for inspiration and tearing
out images we deemed suitable; we were on a mission to seek out the best model
poses which were fun, summery and student-style! On the day, me, Hannah, Chloe
and Rio poured over these pages for ideas, as well as thinking up some of our
own.
Overall the day was fun, productive and after having a
sneak peek at the images, we are really excited about the outcome!
